If you’re looking for a great tv series to watch on the various networks or on one of the many streaming services like Netflix you have plenty to choose from coming up I will count down the top 10 tv shows that you can watch right now to qualify the series must be current having broadcast new episodes within the past 12 months from the date of this video as usual scores from tv critics were not considered these are simply the shows we’ve seen that we enjoyed the best with entertainment value being the most essential factor.

Number 10 is Yellowstone premiering in 2018 this modern western drama on the paramount network stars Kevin Costner along with a fantastic ensemble cast including luke grimes kelly Reilly and cole Hauser the series set in the state of Montana follows the Dutton family who controls the largest contiguous ranch in the united states Costner plays john Dutton the leader of this morally corrupt family as they fight against land developers a nearby Indian reservation and amongst themselves it’s a highly entertaining series with gorgeous scenery that continues to get better with each new episode Yellowstone is now in its third season which premiered in June of 2020 and has already been renewed for a fourth season coming in.

Number 9 upload is a science fiction comedy satire that premiered in May of 2020 on amazon prime video it was created by Greg daniels who is known for his work on several hit tv series including the office parks and recreation, and the Simpsons upload is perhaps one of the most original shows to come along in years it takes place in the year 2033 where humans can be uploaded into a virtual afterlife of their choosing the story follows Nathan a computer programmer who dies prematurely after being uploaded to an expensive community he finds himself under the possessive control of his still-living girlfriend named Ingrid after watching the first few episodes you’ll understand the pure genius of this series, and you’ll be watching more when the first season ends thankfully it will be coming back for a second season

Number 8 spot the boyz is an anti-superhero action drama based on the comic book of the same name premiering in July of 2019 on amazon prime video the show is set in a universe where the superheroes are owned by a powerful corporation known as vot international that markets them as celebrities the series follows a team of vigilantes as they fight back against a group of corrupt and highly arrogant superheroes who abuse their abilities for nefarious means it’s packed full of action and dark satire with straight-up hilarious moments mixed in if you’ve grown tired of all the mediocre shows forced on us from dc and marvel the voice is the show you’ve been waiting for it’s been renewed for a second season which will premiere in September of 2020.

Number 7 is the historical drama the last kingdom which is based on a series of novels by Bernard Cornwell premiering in 2015 the story is set in England during the 9th century when it was divided into seven separate kingdoms it follows uttered who was born a Saxon raised by Vikings seeking his ancestral birthright to help create a new nation the first two seasons were produced by the BBC with Netflix taking full control beginning with season three the cinematography is fantastic and features excellent action scenes all four seasons of the last kingdom are available to watch right now on Netflix there’s been no official word yet, but the expectation is that it will be renewed for a fifth season

Number 6 is the science fiction drama the expanse premiering in 2015 on the sci-fi network the series is set hundreds of years in the future where humanity has colonized the solar system with rising tensions between earth and mars the story follows a group of anti-heroes as they work to uncover a conspiracy that threatens humanity if you’re a science fiction junkie the show’s a must-watch the visuals are stunning with a fantastic storyline after season three the expanse was canceled by the sci-fi network it was quickly picked up by amazon prime video for the fourth season which was released in December of 2019. Amazon has renewed the expanse for a fifth season

At the halfway point in our countdown, billions take the number 5 spot premiering in 2016 on showtime this drama tells the story of hedge fund manager Bobby Axelrod played by Damian lewis as he accumulates wealth and power in the world of high finance in new york city Axelrod’s aggressive tactics often put him in the crosshairs of united states attorney chuck Rhodes played by paul Giamatti the show features intelligent dialogue with exciting plot twists you won’t see coming season 5 of billions has been split into two halves the first part of season five premiered in May of 2020 with part two coming at a later date that has yet to be determined

Number 4 is Westworld the science fiction dystopian drama is based on the Michael Crichton film of the same name premiering in 2016 on HBO the story begins in a technologically advanced wild west theme park that allows visitors to live out their illicit fantasies the writing acting and cinematography are all top-notch with an excellent cast which includes Evan Rachel wood Anthony Hopkins Thandie newton ed harris and Jeffrey wright Aaron paul joined the cast for season three of Westworld which premiered on march 15th of 2020 shortly after that HBO renewed the series for a fourth season

Number 3 is the crime drama thriller Ozark this Netflix original premiered in 2017 and with each passing season continues to get better it stars Jason Bateman and laura Lenny as a buried couple that has to relocate their family to a summer resort community when a money-laundering scheme goes wrong Bateman’s character Marty bird who is a financial advisor comes up with an even bigger money laundering operation in the Ozarks to make things right with the Mexican drug cartel the writing and acting are superb the tension created with each episode is reminiscent of shows like breaking bad three seasons are available right now on Netflix with season three releasing on march 27th of 2020 in the runner-up spot

Number 2 is the historical crime drama peaky blinders while it’s available here in the states listed as a Netflix original it’s actually produced by the BBC and airs first in the UK before being made available on Netflix it premiered in 2013 and is loosely based on the 19th-century urban gang of the same name the show is set in England after world war one and follows the notorious peaky blinders gang who are led by their ambitious leader Tommy Shelby it features excellent production values and fantastic performances from the entire cast five seasons of peaky blinders is available now and has been renewed for sixth no release date has been announced at this time in the top spot

Number 1 better call saul is our favorite tv show we’ve watched over the past 12 months premiering on AMC in 2015 this crime drama created by Vince Gilligan and peter gold is a prequel to the hit tv series breaking bad starring bob Odenkirk with a fantastic supporting cast the series begins six years before the events of breaking bad and follows a con man turned small-time lawyer Jimmy McGill as he transforms into criminal attorney saul goodman five seasons have already been broadcast and with season five being released in February 2020 better call saul in many ways is now on par with the breaking mentioned above terrible and has been renewed for a sixth and final season to air sometime in 2021
